Shit happens
It was started with a job interview by phone.
Then, there was next stage walk in interview. It was a long weekend trip to Jakarta, so the train was really crowded. I'm lucky enough to have a round-trip ticket so I don't have to worry about going home.
There was a mild salary negotiation. Dealt several days later. Work starting day arrangement was set. But wait, there was a slight administration problem - the schedule is pended for several days.
OK, confirmed for the last time - work starting will be on July 29th.
July 28th is my first son birthday, have to spend some quality time with him before leaving.
Sorry son, could not bring a birthday party at your kindergarten class as you have wish for the last several months. Daddy is broke and has lots of bills to pay. That's why daddy desperately need this job. Even that means daddy has to left you and your younger brother with mom alone. This parttime freelancing job could not support us no more.
On the last day, the 28th lunchtime and bam! The job position was canceled due some internal major administration f*ckup. Funny how they have turn me down for the 3rd time. But the last time is the worst of all. I even completed packing my clothing and things. Luckily I haven't pawn our wedding ring and some other valuables we have left for my first month costs.
OK. That's alright. Shit happens.
On the brighter side :
- I think it is worthless for me to join an organization with a very severe internal communication problem. They cannot even do recruit right. Or perhaps "purchase" is a proper word since I was entering as an outsourced hand.
- It is a good chance to spend more time with my boys, back to the full time dad - part time freelancer role.
Ah, que sera sera...
